Most nights we dream about how we used to be

Paper, 58x102x2 cm.

2024.

'Most nights we dream about how we used to be' is a paper cast of a dying silver maple in Hilly Fields, Brockley, London whose branches have been cut off and that looks like a monument to itself. Paper casting is a delicate process in which the paper is carefully sponged on to the tree trunk and an intimate dialogue between the paper, the tree and myself. Through this process the paper is nursed out of its flattened state into a richer, more texture life.
