'I was a tree once too' documents the process of rewilding paper in Inshriach’s Caledonian forest: A paper roll goes on a journey  in the wild landscape lush with junipers and ancient birches that are oozing in lichen. At first stiff and straight, trying to elongate itself to be more tree-like, it slowly integrates more and more into its environment, becoming freer and more natural in this liberative process. However, there's also a sense of futility as the paper roll comes back as a fallen tree trunk in the gallery, hollow, a mere shell of a tree.
